Gran Canaria must see beautiful places

roque nublo

The best beautiful places in Gran Canaria is something difficult to specify, since everything is based on personal tastes. For beach lovers, perhaps you’d prefer a wave with a town behind, for mountain lovers perhaps a photo of the Roque Nublo. Nevertheless, this list of must-see places is an all-rounder of the island of Gran Canaria, whether you are a wave catcher or a hiker, you’re sure to love these places.

Roque Nublo

No matter how you see it, the monolithic rock imposes and if the conditions are correct, the Roque Nublo is majestic and deserves to be in the list of beautiful places in Gran Canaria. The best time to go is during sunset.

Maspalomas Sand Dunes

The dunes are the tourist image of Gran Canaria, I do not think there is any poster or advertisement for Gran Canaria where they do not appear, and the truth is that they deserve their place. At first glance you think they are just any dunes, but when you have to walk through them to get to the beach, it seems that you are crossing the Sahara with no end to it.

Fataga Ravine

Fataga is not usually named much, since it is on the way to other towns in the centre of the island. From the south it is the road to Tejeda and from the north it is like the final destination before going to the dunes. The truth is that it has a lot to offer in terms of Gran Canaria landscapes and climate. It is a rare area where you find arid vegetation like cacti its purple fruit, merging with palm trees, leaving an authentic oasis in sight.

To live you need water and sun, like us, the island needs the same. However, when it rains, Gran Canaria turns green! Especially the interior of the island. The best thing about the island are the microclimates, in the south of the island you may have 30C, however in Tejeda it may be a foggy day with 12C. In the photo above, I was lucky, as it had just rained and cleared the air to get this magical landscape!

In conclusion, I don’t think it is the definitive list, but if you live here or have visited the island or are planning to do so, these are some beautiful places in Gran Canaria that you must see. What do you think?
