Barranco Hondo Route – Hiking in Gran Canaria

Yesterday a friend and her uncle went for a walk. For her uncle, I have the nickname of Mr Wisdom on my head haha (he knows alot!).

The route to get to where we started walking, I don’t know why, but I kept laughing, it was like a safari on steroids! From the stones in the road, the car was reeling left and right, and it felt as if it was going to fly off in seconds.

In order not to go by car under the highway, we can go to Juan Grande along the GC 500 road heading south, we pass a gas station and a roundabout, after this we continue along the GC 500 for 1.2 km until a second roundabout, where we parked.

The route is to know the Barranco Hondo and the Arco del Coronadero, which are in San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Gran Canaria) and within the landscape of the Amurga Massif.

It took about 5 hours round trip and I learned a lot about plants, stones, areas of the island, the aborigines and animals. I felt like a child in school, an experience I will not forget. The truth is that with my friend’s uncle I usually feel like a little boy, he knows so much that I disconnect and try to learn as much as I can! – Do you have someone like that in your life?

The post is after I went for the walk and back then I had no camera, I leave you with a few pics of what I coul scavenge.
