Hindu Holidays

Hindu holidays are celebrated according to the Hindu calendar, a calendar used in India which depends on the movement of the Sun and the Moon and will move within a range of dates in different years. The list contains the more popular Hindu holidays and as I learn more about the religion I will add further holidays.

I hope our list of Hindu holidays has been helpful to you. Note that the Hindu religion had a transition from Sanatana Dharma to Hinduism with the influence of the Persians. Before, natural forces were prayed to and any object / phenomenon that brought positive “vibes” into our lives was worshiped. The result was a polytheistic religion.
